Check out our jaw-dropping scenery and trace your trail with our track maps showing you exactly where we take you. Where to first?

West Wanaka Station | Dingleburn Station | Roy’s Peak | Wanaka

West Wanaka Station

West Wanaka Station is one of the most spectacular and historic high country stations in Wanaka. It’s privately owned and closed to the general public. We are privileged to be the only company allowed onto the property. A Station is another name for a very very large farm. West Wanaka Station is 30000 acres in size which translates to roughly the same size as 17000 football fields! When we say “High Country” we mean you’ll be high up in the mountains, up to 1000m above sea level in fact, giving you a feeling of total solitude and serenity with jaw-dropping views at every turn.

Dingleburn Station

One the edge of Lake Hawea, Dingleburn Station (7000 hectares or 17000 acres) sits alone, remote in it’s alpine splendor. Almost cutoff from the outside world if not for the pioneering madness of then owner Ian Sarginson, who in 1958, took it upon himself to hand blast an access road into a sheer rockface more than 50m above the lake. He was told he would either complete the road, go broke or get himself killed. He lived and succeeded providing us with one of the most spectacular private backroad journeys in New Zealand.

Roys Peak

Roy’s Peak is known the world over as one of the most photographed views in New Zealand. It also involves a steep 3 hr climb to get there. We however, fly by helicopter to our private landing site on Coromandel Peak. It’s near the summit of Roy’s Peak but far enough away to not see any hikers. Our Roy’s Peak Photography Safari is a photographer’s once in a lifetime experience.

Wanaka
Wanaka is famous for its raw natural beauty, laidback lifestyle and friendly locals. With a population of only 12000 it’s easy to find peace and quiet a short walk, bike or drive from the town centre. There are many great walks on public tracks or choose our private walks for a more intimate and personal experience. Wanaka is a short 1 hr drive from Queenstown and 3 hrs from the West Coast and the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.

What our guests say…

“Fantastic afternoon exploring Wanaka’s backcountry, expertly guided by Mark. Spectacular views and geography, 4WD fun, interesting historical relics, magic light at sunset and plenty of wildlife. Perfect entertainment for all – our 10 year loved the 4WD aspect and the grandparents were delighted by this unique opportunity to visit such rarely seen high-country. An encounter with a wild stag was a very memorable moment. Definitely keen to do another trip with Ridgeline Adventures. Thanks to Mark and his team for an awesome afternoon.”
