This 4WD adventure explores Wānaka’s best kept secret, the breathtaking Mātukituki Valley and Rob Roy Glacier area. Wānaka’s gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park.
Travelling Mt Aspiring Road alongside Lake Wānaka offers spectacular views of iconic Mt Aspiring- Tititea (3033m). Entering the glacial carved Mātukituki Valley view the gin-clear Mātukituki River with towering snow-capped Mt Avalanche above you. Pass huge farms of Red Deer, Angus Cattle and roaming sheep providing spectacular photo opportunities. Learn about the forces of nature that continue to shape this jaw-dropping landscape. Enjoy a leisurely walk to Wishbone Falls (20mins return) before heading off-road onto Mt Aspiring Station to enjoy refreshments beneath the mighty Rob Roy Glacier. After refreshments an optional nature walk alongside the Mātukituki River awaits (30 mins) before returning to Wānaka.
